Welcome to the world of UTS. We are a group of friends that love gaming but only when it is clean and uncorrupted. We enjoy playing Modern Warfare but hate that there seems to be an increasing number of players using cheats and hacks. We all paid our hard earned cash to enjoy the game and yet it seems the developers are only interested in taking the money and have failed to police the gaming arena. We constantly spot and challenge those corrupt players who think that fun stems from obtaining a cracked copy of the game, introducing different cheats and smirking at the threat of a ban being enforced by the developers IW Net.

We report those who we catch cheating. They like to call themselves hackers, to create a perception that they are something other than untrustworthy idiots who have very little skill. They appear to get their kicks from spoiling the fun of others. There are many genuine players, who play the game, increase their rank and have a real passion for completing the challenge contained within the game.

Each time we have reported the corrupted cheats, IW Net have never responded and we see the same players, using the same cheats again and again. It seems that IW Net are powerless to keep the game clean and ensure that Modern Warfare has longevity and sustainability for hard core gamers, who just love to compete. IW Net released the new map pack and we all invested and supported the release. It was great to see that the game was suddenly free of cheats and idiots. It did not take long for the game to be undermined and once again the servers filled with cheats, bragging about the fact that nothing could or would be done.

There is another release pending. What all genuine gamers have to decide is whether or not to spend their money on a game that is broken. For those that wish to play in a clean environment, I would suggest that this time around you do not purchase the extension pack. If we continue to support IW Net by purchasing a cheat infested game, they will have no need or motivation to clean up the mess that they have allowed to happen. It may be a case that they have so many internal problems that they do not have the resources to implement a cure but if this is the case then they do not have the right to sell a product that is not secure.

We have now created a blacklist of all those that we report and find cheating. Unfortunately the list is large and continues to grow. I forecast that the Modern Warfare community will decline in numbers as frustration and disappointment grows. Having dedicated servers may have been a costly option but at least punkbuster thwarted some who wanted to cheat and server administrators could ban those who attempted to spoil the fun of others.

If you know of any gamer that cheats, post their identity on the forum and we will add it to our blacklist. Please be careful about who you accuse. We are careful about those we add to the list. Don’t confuse skill with cheating. There are some great players out there. I applaud their tolerance and patience but if they are waiting for IW Net to find a solution to this problem then I have to say I have more chance of discovering Atlantis. It is not going to happen. If you want to spend your leisure time playing on a gaming platform that is riddled with cheats then buy the expansion pack later on this year. I hope you have fun. Me………..well I would rather play COD 5, be reliant on punkbuster and server admin’s to keep the arena clean. IW Net need to get their act together, live up to their promise of a secure gaming platform or hand the development of the game back to another franchise who can.

Logo:Codovios

Text:Legion

At least 6 players confirmed the hacks. The cheaters have still access to the game. The majority with private profiles. What a shame… you will find them here. Hackertracker

Do you remember ?:

The biggest benefit from fourzerotwo: The biggest benefit of using IWnet by far is the fact that you don’t have to worry about joining a server full of aim-bots, wallhacks, or cheaters. Or relying on the server admin of the server to constantly be monitoring, banning, and policing it. Modern Warfare 2 on PC allows us to control the quality of the game much more than ever before as well as utilizing the VAC (Valve-Anti-Cheat) system to keep games clean of hackers and cheaters.

After five months we see on every match aim-bots, wallhacks and cheater ! VAC is a total failure.

We bought the game for the promise that it will be monitored. But …no monitoring, no banning. Rankhackers from the first day and they are still playing. Wallhackers are ruining the game and IW do nothing.

Google ” wallhack mw2″ and you will find 1.500.000 results. What a shame.

IW make your job. Your anti-cheater concept failed.

Comments are welcome.

The internet is full of petitions against the new concept IWNET. Why?

No dedicated servers, less admin options…

I don’t care.

Playing on different servers today… i need some rounds to understand the server settings/rules. Every server is different. The clans adjusts server settings , depending on their skills. On some server the ppsh is strong on some weak. Gravity and speed is different. Arty and dogs are disabled or enabled. On others the FG42 is like a rocket and kill everyone. etc… Playing on a server where the nades fly from one spawn to the other is fun…? On some servers you cant use the tubes or riflenades. Ok, i accept all the admin rules. But…

I want uncorrupted gameplay and not playing around the serversettings to get an advantage for the own clan.

Playing today COD4 you dont know if the player hax or he abuse the server settings or he use illegal console commands or simply he has skill.

The realism mod has nothing to do with server settings tweaking. This is a totally different discussion. Someone who play realism respect the few rules and know that aimed bullets goes indahead.

The responsability to keep MW2 exciting over the years depends on IW. No new maps, no fun after some months.
The responsability to keep MW2 haxfree depends on IW. Its their network.
The responsability to keep MW2 a place where friends can have fun depends on IW. Their gameconcept.
IW created IWNET, now its their job to make MW2 succesful. The players are there.

UTS want to have fun without cheaters, servertweaking clanadmins and consoletweaking players.

Waffankulen to all

On 10.20.09, In Video Games, By fourzerotwo

I recently broke news on a PC community member’s podcast that Modern Warfare 2 would be introducing a completely new backend infastructure called IWNET that would allow matchmaking for multiplayer games on PC. The news, by default, means no more browsing through a Server List for a server with the settings / ping you want among other things, and sent shockwaves through the hardcore PC community, leading to many more questions than answers as to ‘HOW’ this would work, and if it would really be better for the PC community as a whole.

Questions, assumptions, and speculation I intend to dispel.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is actually the biggest investment Infinity Ward has ever made into the PC version of our games. It’s also the most feature-rich PC version we’ve ever made. IWNET takes the benefits of dedicated servers and allows them to be utilized and accessed by every player, out of the box, while removing the barrier to entry for players unaware of how to maintain a server on their own.

How does it do this?

Matchmaking & Smoother Gameplay: When you want to player a multiplayer game on PC, in the past. You’d have to scroll through a Server Browser which listed every available server which was hosted by individual server admins. Each had their own private rules, mods, or ways of playing the game. Most players would also use the server browser to find just the best quality game (based on PING). With IWNET matchmaking, it takes all that into account for you. All you have to do is select the playlist (pre-set gametypes with custom rules) that fits the style of play you are in the mood for. When you do, it will automatically find you a game with the best performance, ping, and preferences based on your location and individual connection as well as matching you with players of your same SKILL. So you’re always guaranteed the best game performance for where you are and what connection you’re playing on as well as an equal game with other players of your same skill level, not rank, but skill level. It doesn’t mean you’ll just be thrown into a random game! It will put you in the game that will give you the smoothest gameplay possible without you having to manually find a server with the best ping.

Playlists and Private Matches: As I described above, Playlists are pre-set game modes and gametypes for public games. If you just want to jump into a public game of Search and Destroy or Hardcore Search and Destroy and you don’t care about fully customizing it, then you can utilize playlists to do that quickly for you. However, say you’re in a clan and you want to play a Clan match with another team, or you want to practice for an upcoming tournament that has specific rules in a private game. Then you can start a Private Match (which is essentially like running your own private server) where you have complete control over the rules, who can join, boot players you don’t want, and essentially control the entire game or tweak it to your liking. Once the rules are set, you can invite the other team in or just start it up with your clan to practice with the custom rules before the match. This now allows you to play custom games out of the box without the need to install mods, find a modded server with the rules you like, or worry about not being in control of the match.

Party System and Friendslist: Modern Warfare 2 on PC also makes it much easier if you want to party up with your friends, or again, with your clan for a match. You can utilize the friendslist to see when your friends are online, and invite them to your Party. A Party allows you to move from game to game as a group. It’s great for clan matches, because you can party of with your clan and move from public game to public game together. Or if you’re doing a scrim, party up and invite the other clan (who is in a party) and they’ll all join at once. Set up a private match together and play. It makes setting up scrims or games with friends easier and hassle free.

Cheat / Hack Free Games: The biggest benefit of using IWnet by far is the fact that you don’t have to worry about joining a server full of aim-bots, wallhacks, or cheaters.

All in all, IWNET adds a load of new features that the PC version of our games have never had before and allows us an infrastructure to continue to update and improve on the game post-launch.
