The purpose of this post is to clarify the difference between tactics and strategy.

Strategy comes from the Greek word “strategos” meaning “general.” Tactic comes from the Greek word “taktikas” meaning “foot soldier”.

STRATEGY involves the “big picture” – the overall plan, how the game will achieve the objective. A strategy is a long term plan of action designed to achieve a particular goal. Victory.

· Strategy video game, a video game in which the players' long-term planning skills determine the outcome, rather than reflexes
· Strategy (game theory), a complete plan of action in a game situation
· Military strategy, planning the conduct of warfare.

TACTICS are activities to reach specific objectives. Tactics are the ways in which the strategies are executed. Tactics are the actions which allow you to achieve your strategic goal.
